Renowned Sustainability Expert Debbie O’Byrne Joins Planet Price as Co-Founder

April 18, 2023 – Planet Price™, a leading for-influence, AI-based sustainability company that helps organizations reduce the environmental and social impact of their supply chains and operations, is proud to announce that sustainability expert Debbie O’Byrne has joined the Company as Co-Founder. Debbie brings with her many years of experience in the field of Circular Economy (CE) consulting, sustainability, and system redesign initiatives in public and private sector organizations.

Debbie has extensive experience in CE consulting work for a range of government departments, private companies, and NGOs in Asia-Pacific and overseas. Debbie has most recently been working as a Circular Economy Principal at Beca, one of Asia Pacific’s largest independent advisory, design and engineering consultancies, and Circular Economy Lead at Lake Macquarie City Council in Australia. Debbie will continue supporting existing Beca clients for the time being.

Debbie is a member of Australian Circular Economy (ACE) Hub’s Circular Procurement working group, where she remains actively involved. Her previous roles have included service redesign, business analysis, operations and facilities management, change management and team building, sustainability and community initiatives, project management, process mapping and redesign, compliance, policy and procedure development, and implementation.

Debbie’s passion for sustainability has led her to collaborate with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation (EMF), Scion, The Nature Conservancy, and the NZ Ministry of Environment to host the world’s first Pacific Indigenous Circular Economy Summit in New Zealand. Her expertise in Circular Economy also led to her appointment to:

• the World Green Building Council Circularity Accelerator as the NZ rep
• the Products & Materials Expert Reference Panel for NZ Green Building Council.
• membership in the College of Assessors as a CE expert for Ministry for Business Innovation and Enterprise (MBIE)

Debbie has recently been collaborating with Planet Price on several Council Scope 3 engagements in the APAC region. She is a regular speaker at conferences across a range of CE related topics, and will be attending the 2023 World CE Forum in Helsinki in May on behalf of Planet Price.
